AST Music, Sdn.Bhd.

Akademi Seni Tarian Sri Rampai started in Taman Sri Rampai, Setapak back in 1985. We started on the first and second floor of a shop house unit and conducted music and ballet classes. In year 2000, we took on the name AST Music Sdn. Bhd. and also took over the ground floor of the shop house for retail of musical instruments and accessories while the 1st and 2nd floors remain utilized for music courses. It was also during this time that we specialized in retail and music courses of music while Akademi Seni Tarian Sri Rampai now specializes on ballet lessons. In the beginning we only had very limited guitars and accessories. Over a short period of 10 years, our inventory has expanded to more than hundreds of kinds of guitar, guitar strings, and amplifiers as well as other musical instruments, parts and accessories. Besides during retail, we also supply to primary and secondary schools (government and private), recording and jam studios and government departments in the vicinity. To date we have over 300 students. Our students also contribute to our list of clientele which is growing through spreading of ‘word of mouth’ by our regular customers. We have evolved through the years to accommodate the demand of our customers. We believe that change must take place for us to remain in this industry. We used to conduct more ‘classical’ instrument lessons such as piano and classical guitar. However, of late we have added more pop or rock classes such as drum, electric and bass guitar. We are still located at the same location but the interior of the shop has changed tremendously through the years to accommodate more students and more display cabinets. We are also currently expanding our ground floor showroom to the 1st floor so that we can have better specialization of products. At the same time we are also giving a facelift to our display racks and flooring to make our products more attractive.
